The Oklahoma Office of Attorney General is currently seeking an experienced attorney to serve as a full-time Assistant Attorney General with the Utility Regulation Unit.

Job Summary: The Office of Attorney General’s Utility Regulation Unit represents and protects the interests of the state’s utility customers in administrative and civil proceedings affecting utility rates, charges, and terms and conditions of service. The Assistant Attorney General will advocate for utility customers in proceedings before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, with some practice before state courts and federal administrative agencies. The Assistant Attorney General will be tasked with researching, evaluating, and presenting complex financial and legal information at trial and through briefing, including interfacing with non-attorney experts.

Qualifications: A qualified candidate must be a licensed attorney with a minimum of two years’ experience in the practice of law with an emphasis on litigation and/or administrative hearings, including discovery, hearings, and preparing written legal briefs. Preference will be given to candidates with a prior background in economics, accounting, and/or finance. Some travel is required. A writing sample must accompany a resume to be considered.
