The Oklahoma Office of Attorney General is currently seeking an experienced attorney to serve as the Deputy Chief Assistant Attorney General for the Utility Regulation Unit.

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Position Summary: The Office of Attorney General’s Utility Regulation Unit represents and protects the interests of the state’s utility customers in administrative and civil proceedings affecting utility rates, charges, and terms and conditions of service. The successful candidate will advocate for utility customers in proceedings before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, with some practice before state courts and federal administrative agencies. This position will be tasked with researching, analyzing, and presenting complex financial and legal information. The successful candidate must be able to communicate this information professionally and clearly to support staff, to the Attorney General’s executive staff, to outside stakeholders, in a trial setting, and with the public. The successful candidate must also be prepared to help coordinate teams of attorneys, accountants, and analysts to investigate utility rates.
Qualifications: A qualified candidate must be a licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma with a minimum of four years’ experience in the practice of law, including substantial litigation and/or administrative experience. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in areas of litigation and/or administrative practice, including discovery, hearings, and preparing written legal briefs. Preference will be given to candidates with substantial experience in public utility rate regulation, accounting, finance, and/or energy markets. Some travel is required. A writing sample must accompany a resume to be considered.
