The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is seeking part-time Legal Interns for our Solicitor General Unit for Summer 2019 and Fall 2019.
Position Summary: The Solicitor General Unit is dedicated to representing the interests of the State of Oklahoma in appeals in state and federal court, including at the Oklahoma and U.S. Supreme Court. The Unit also litigates in district courts constitutional issues and challenges to overreach by the federal government or other States. Intern duties include legal and factual research, brief-writing and other litigation assistance, production of legal memoranda, and some administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have good legal judgment, solid writing skills, and be able to research, prepare, analyze and understand complex information and legal issues.
Qualifications: Applicants must be a 2L or 3L (or some equivalent) during the internship period in question, and they must be available to work in Oklahoma City. Ranking in the top 25% of law school class and law review are preferred, but not required.
