Attorney General’s Office Information on Suspected Anadarko Illegal Gambling Ring

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Attorney General’s Multicounty Grand Jury Unit Tuesday joined law enforcement from Oklahoma and Florida in the arrests, property searches and initial court appearances of an Anadarko couple accused in a multistate illegal gambling scheme.

Chase Burns, the owner of International Internet Technologies (IIT) in Anadarko, is accused of supplying illegal gaming software to outlets in Florida, violating the state’s gaming laws. On Tuesday, Burns turned himself in at the Caddo County Sheriff’s Office. At a hearing Tuesday afternoon in Caddo County District Court with prosecutors from the state’s multicounty grand jury unit, Burns fought extradition to Florida.

His bond was set at $500,000. He also is required to surrender his passport, the passport of his child, wear a GPS tracker, cannot speak to co-conspirators, cannot access the Internet and will remain under house arrest.

His wife, Kristin Burns, was arrested Monday night and her bond was set Tuesday at $100,000 in Cleveland County District Court. She also must wear a GPS tracker and surrender her passport.

The next hearing on extradition was set for April 12 in Caddo County District Court.

According to the affidavit, Burns and other owners of the gaming units claimed the money played and lost on the games was to be donated to a veterans group, Allied Veterans, which received less than 1 percent of the proceeds. Prosecutors believe Burns earned more than $290 million on the gaming software and units.

Burns faces charges of racketeering, money laundering, keeping a gambling house, the manufacturing or sale of slot machines and conducting a lottery.

The arrests come after several years of investigation by the Attorney General’s Office, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the IRS, the Seminole County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Washington County (Washington) Gambling Commission.
