The 2012 Partnership Conference on Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence & Stalking will be held Sept. 19-20 in Norman

OKLAHOMA CITY — Attorney General Scott Pruitt will join prosecutors, advocates, investigators and other allied professionals from across the state for the 14th Annual Partnership Conference on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault & Stalking.

The event will be held Sept. 19-20 at the NCED Hotel and Conference Center in Norman.

“Protecting Oklahoma families and ensuring the safety of our citizens are extremely important goals for the Attorney General’s Office,” Pruitt said. “This collaborative effort helps us respond effectively, providing safety for victims and holding offenders accountable.”

The annual two-day conference will focus on emerging issues and provide training opportunities for law enforcement, court personnel, health practitioners, victim advocates, faith-based workers, students and other professionals. Continuing education credits are available.

Registration is available online at http://www.regonline.com/partnersforchange. The fee to register is $95 through Sept. 12. Space is limited.

General Pruitt and Bob Funk Jr., owner and chief executive of Prodigal and the Oklahoma City Barons, will give opening remarks.

Keynote speakers will be Lundy Bancroft, a prize-winning author, former co-director of Emerge and creator of the Co-Counseling Alliance; and Alden Pinkham, a program specialist and trainer with the Polaris Project, the creators/operators of the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

The conference is hosted annually by the Attorney General’s Victim Services Unit.

This year’s conference is sponsored by the Oklahoma State Department of Health Office of Child Abuse Prevention, U.S. Attorneys’ offices in the eastern, northern and western districts, the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, OATH Coalition, Oklahoma City Catholic Archdiocese’s Office of Family Life, Native Alliance Against Violence, District Attorneys Council, Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board and the Oklahoma Regional Community Policing Institute.

The Attorney General’s Victim Services Unit oversees funding and provides training and certification for domestic and sexual violence programs across Oklahoma.
