The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is currently seeking a full-time Research Assistant for the Victim Services Unit.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Chief of the Victim Services Unit, the Research Assistant receives and processes varied statistical data and information necessary for the preparation of surveys and reports pertaining to criminal justice statistics, primarily in support of the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board (DVFRB).
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identifying, reviewing and compiling information and data related to domestic violence homicides;
Coding and entering data into SPSS (statistical software package used for statistical analysis);
Using software to generate data, charts and graphs for reports and other purposes;
Assisting in gathering and acquiring statistical data from various criminal justice agencies;
Verifying data for accuracy and completeness using basic statistical procedures and tabulations;
Other related work as required and assigned.
Qualifications: Basic knowledge and demonstrated experience using SPSS is strongly preferred, along with basic statistical procedures and tabulating skills. Proficiency in spelling, punctuation and grammar will be expected as well as excellent oral and written communication. The successful candidate must maintain the integrity of the Attorney General’s Office as well as the confidentiality of information as required by the Attorney General, the DVFRB, and other state and federal confidentiality standards.
