Attorney General O'Connor Files Border-Crisis Lawsuit Against the Biden Administration

OKLAHOMA CITY - Attorney General John O’Connor today joined a multistate lawsuit against the Biden Administration for its abuse of the Central American Minors (CAM) Refugee and Parole Program.

The CAM program provides certain aliens in the United States the ability to secure protected status after entering the country illegally. The aliens can petition the government to bring in extended family members from Honduras, El Salvador, or Guatemala.

“The Biden Administration’s lack of leadership on illegal immigration is directly impacting our nation,” Attorney General O’Connor said. “The CAM program was created without considering its impact on Oklahoma, Texas and the continuing crisis at the southern border. It’s time to fix the problem President Biden created.”

In addition to its abuse of the CAM program, the Biden Administration has, since it came to power a year ago, attempted to freeze deportations, stop border wall construction, cease arrests and deportations of broad categories of aliens, and terminate the Remain-in-Mexico program.

The states filing the lawsuit are Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alaska, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, and Montana and Texas.
