Attorneys General to Convene in Oklahoma City Thursday to Discuss The New Era of Public Safety
WHO: The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Midwestern Region is holding a one and a half day meeting in Oklahoma City on Attorneys General: Chief Law Enforcement Officers in a New Age of Public Safety. Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt will host. Attorney General Pruitt serves as chairman of the NAAG Midwestern Region, which is comprised of 11 states.*
WHAT: Topics to be addressed include crime prevention best practices, lessons from law enforcement, the dramatic reduction in crime in New York City, emerging solutions with domestic violence homicides, breaking the cycle of criminal behavior, and the true costs and benefits of reducing violent crime.
Keynote addresses and panel presentations will be given by Amy Monsour Santee, Kaiser Family Foundation; Bernard Melekian, president, Paratus Group and former director of Community Oriented Policing Services at the Justice Department; Chief Bob Ricks, Edmond Police Department; David O’Keefe, Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, New York; Richard Lisko, Program Manager, International Association of Chiefs of Police; Linda Major, Marion County (IN) Prosecutor’s Office; and Colonel Hugh Clements Jr., Chief, Providence (RI) Police Department.
