OKLAHOMA CITY (July 11, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond and attorneys general of 24 other states are challenging the Biden Administration’s most radical regulations yet on tailpipe emissions. The Biden plan would forcibly phase out gas-powered vehicles and restructure the automobile industry around electric vehicles (EVs) at a breakneck pace. The proposal aims to boost certain EV sales from 8.4 percent of total vehicle sales today to 67 percent by 2032.

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 5, 2023) – Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond today filed a brief in support of death row inmate Richard Glossip’s petition to the U.S. Supreme Court for a writ of certiorari in his case. As the state’s chief law enforcement officer, Drummond contends Glossip’s conviction for the 1997 murder of Barry Van Treese should be vacated and remanded back to district court amid revelations of false testimony by the prosecution’s key witness.

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 29, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond praised today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision in Groff v. DeJoy, a case affirming religious freedoms in the workplace. Oklahoma had filed two amicus briefs in favor of Gerald Groff, a former mailman who had declined to make deliveries on Sundays.

“I am pleased by the Supreme Court’s resounding affirmation of religious liberty,” said Drummond. “This unanimous decision emphasizes that Americans of all faiths have a Constitutional right to live and work according to their religious beliefs.”

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 26, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond made the following remarks today after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up the case of Charter Day School Inc. v. Peltier. The high Court’s lack of action on the case allows a lower court ruling to stand, effectively affirming that charter schools are state actors.
