Criminal Appeals

The Criminal Appeals Unit represents the state in the criminal appeals process to ensure that the decisions rendered by judges and juries are upheld in the appellate courts.


Criminal Justice

Multi-County Grand Jury

The Multi-county Grand Jury Unit investigates and prosecutes cases ranging from homicide to narcotics violations. The unit also administers all aspects of the Multi-county Grand Jury.


Worker's Compensation Fraud

The Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Fraud Unit investigates and prosecutes fraud on the part of claimants, doctors, attorneys and insurance companies. The unit also provides education and training about workers’ compensation fraud.


The Oklahoma Commission on Opioid Abuse

Internet Crimes Against Children

Members of the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force are specially trained to investigate the exploitation of children through the use of technology. Learn more about the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.


Social Security Fraud

The Social Security Fraud Unit investigates and prosecutes fraud on the part of claimants, doctors, attorneys and insurance companies. The unit also investigates fraudulent federal benefits claims.


Tobacco Enforcement

The Tobacco Enforcement Unit enforces the Oklahoma Prevention of Youth Access to Tobacco Act.

Legal Counsel

In addition to several specialized duties, the Legal Counsel Unit provides day-to-day legal advice for state agencies, boards and commissions.


Victim Services

The Victim Services Unit oversees funding and certification for domestic violence/sexual assault, batterers intervention and adult victims of sex trafficking programs across the state. The unit also provides training for law enforcement officers, prosecutors and shelter workers. Additionally, the unit provides services to victims and survivors of violent crime.

Litigation

The Litigation Unit defends and prosecutes the state’s civil matters. The unit also works to recover monies wrongfully taken from the state and supports litigation on behalf of the state in every county and jurisdiction.

Public Protection

The division works to secure a safe and fair marketplace, to ensure the availability of reliable and affordable utility services, to protect the environment, to advance the cause of civil rights and to foster a safe and honest Medicaid system for its health coverage recipients.

Civil Rights Enforcement

The Office of Civil Rights Enforcement is dedicated to enforcing Oklahoma’s anti-discrimination laws, providing educational resources and partnering with the public to positively and proactively advance the cause of civil rights for the equal benefit and enjoyment of all Oklahomans.

Consumer Protection Unit

Through its Consumer Protection Unit (CPU), the Office of the Attorney General is committed to ensuring a safe and fair marketplace in Oklahoma.

Conservation Unit

The Conservation Unit serves as liaison counsel to several state environmental agencies (Department of Environmental Quality, Secretary of Energy and Environment, Oklahoma Water Resources Board and Oklahoma Corporation Commission) and provides general counsel and representation in litigation which involves special expertise in the areas of administrative and environmental law. The unit also serves as General Counsel to the Environmental Quality Board and represents the Secretary of Energy and Environment, who is the trustee for state natural resource damages.

Medicaid Fraud Control Unit

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigates and prosecutes Medicaid fraud, as well as abuse, neglect and exploitation of patient funds in long term board and care facilities.

Solicitor General

The Solicitor General serves as a top legal adviser to the attorney general and advises other agency lawyers and state officials on complex constitutional and other legal matters.
