OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 15, 2024) – Domestic violence homicides in Oklahoma decreased slightly in 2022, but the number of incidents remain among the highest in the nation, according to the annual report just released by the Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 13, 2024) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond is voicing support for the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) proposed Trade Regulation Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees.

Drummond and a bipartisan coalition of 18 other state attorneys general recently filed a comment letter in response to an FTC notice of proposed rulemaking, which allowed for comments on the proposed rule’s provisions, including:

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 12, 2024) -- Attorney General Gentner Drummond today filed an entry of appearance and assumed control of a State lawsuit that Gov. Kevin Stitt has pursued against a company that the Governor has incorrectly blamed for the misuse of hundreds of thousands of dollars in education relief funds. Drummond also dismissed the litigation. 

“I have been clear and consistent in communicating with the Governor on this matter,” said Drummond. “I will not allow taxpayer funds and State resources to be wasted in pursuit of this meritless lawsuit.”

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 8, 2024) – The Multi-County Grand Jury has indicted three men for conspiracy to defraud the state and other fraudulent claims stemming from the Swadley’s Bar-B-Q contract with the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.

Ronald Brent Swadley, Curtis Ray Breuklander and Timothy Raymond Hooper are charged with one felony count of conspiracy to defraud the state and five felony counts of presenting false or fraudulent claims against the state.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 7, 2024) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond is leading a pair of efforts – one a bipartisan group of attorneys general across the nation, and the other an Oklahoma coalition of tribal leaders and district attorneys – asking Congress to provide adequate funding to the Crime Victims Fund so states can properly serve victims of crime.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 6, 2024) -- A Biden administration pause on the export of liquified natural gas (LNG) will embolden Iran and Russia and hamper the U.S.’s ability to protect itself, according to a letter penned by Attorney General Gentner Drummond and several state attorneys general.

In a letter today to President Biden and the U.S. Department of Energy, Drummond and 22 attorneys general said the pause is unlawful, damaging to the economy and harmful to national security.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 1, 2024) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond and 25 other attorneys general are asking U.S. Congressional leadership to defund the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) due to its ties to terrorism.

In a letter today, the multi-state coalition outlined UNRWA’s role in diverting money intended for education and civil works to material support for kidnapping, torture and murder.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 30, 2024) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond and Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) Executive Director Steven Harpe today filed a joint motion asking the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to schedule the next phase of executions at 90-day intervals in what will be the final request for adjustments to the execution schedule.

There are six convicted murderers due to be executed who would be impacted: Richard Norman Rojem, Emmanuel Littlejohn, Kevin Ray Underwood, Wendell Arden Grissom, Tremane Wood and Kendrick Antonio Simpson.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 29, 2024) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond filed a motion Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma asking for a preliminary injunction against the Biden Administration for denying millions of dollars in funding to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) to punish the state for being pro-life.
