OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 28, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond has announced that the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board plans to issue up to $23 million in opioid abatement grant awards. Under the Political Subdivisions Opioid Abatement Grants Act, eligible entities are limited to Oklahoma counties, incorporated municipalities, public school districts, technology school districts, and a public trust solely benefiting one of the aforementioned political subdivisions.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 21, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond and a bipartisan coalition of 40 state attorneys general are urging the U.S. Supreme Court to protect veterans' rights by ruling in favor of James Rudisill in Rudisill v. McDonough.
The Supreme Court is expected to take up the case toward the end of the year.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 18, 2023) – The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office is partnering with the Oklahoma Press Association (OPA) to host seminars on Oklahoma’s Open Meeting and Open Records laws in five locations across the state beginning late next month.
The seminars will be presented by Thomas R. Schneider, deputy general counsel to Attorney General Gentner Drummond.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 17, 2023) - The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is bringing back its annual Employment Law Conference with a Sept. 12 session in Oklahoma City and Sept. 14 in Tulsa. Registration for the free event is now open.
Hosted by the agency’s Office of Civil Rights Enforcement, the conference will cover anti-discrimination laws, rights and responsibilities. Topics include artificial intelligence, vaccine mandates, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and more. Continuing Education Credits are available.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 16, 2023) — Attorney General Gentner Drummond is calling on U.S. Congressional leadership to pass the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act. The bill prevents California from burdening farmers and ranchers across the country with radical anti-agriculture regulations.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 14) – Attorney General Drummond has joined a coalition of 21 states opposing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed new rule on existing coal-, natural gas- and oil-fired power plants.
The proposal attempts to regulate those plants under the Clean Air Act by imposing more stringent emissions standards. The would-be rule ignores last year’s rebuke from the U.S. Supreme Court in West Virginia v. EPA, which warned that the EPA should not use a narrow regulatory provision to force coal-fired power plants into retirement en masse.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 8, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced today that Oklahoma City law firm Foshee & Yaffe has been selected to represent the State of Oklahoma in possible legal action related to potential market manipulation and illegal conduct that gouged consumers of billions of dollars during Winter Storm Uri. The firm was selected after Drummond ordered the first-of-its-kind Request for Proposal (RFP) process conducted by the Office of the Attorney General.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 1, 2023) - The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office is now accepting registrations for the 2023 Domestic and Sexual Violence and Stalking Partnership Conference, set for Sept. 13 and 14 in Norman.
The statewide conference will provide innovative training on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking for state and tribal officials, law enforcement officers, advocates, prosecutors, judges and allied professionals.
