OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 30, 2024) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond and Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) Executive Director Steven Harpe today filed a joint motion asking the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to schedule the next phase of executions at 90-day intervals in what will be the final request for adjustments to the execution schedule.

There are six convicted murderers due to be executed who would be impacted: Richard Norman Rojem, Emmanuel Littlejohn, Kevin Ray Underwood, Wendell Arden Grissom, Tremane Wood and Kendrick Antonio Simpson.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 29, 2024) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond filed a motion Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma asking for a preliminary injunction against the Biden Administration for denying millions of dollars in funding to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) to punish the state for being pro-life.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 23, 2024) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond today commended Gov. Kevin Stitt for signing three new state-tribal compact agreements. The Governor signed tobacco tax compacts with the Chickasaw and Apache nations and approved a car tag agreement with the Chickasaw Nation.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 22, 2024) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond said he is pleased the U.S. Supreme Court has announced it will hear the case of Oklahoma death row inmate Richard Glossip. Drummond had supported Glossip’s July 2023 petition to the high court for a writ of certiorari to hear the case.

As the state’s chief law enforcement officer, Drummond has contended Glossip’s conviction for the 1997 murder of Barry Van Treese should be vacated and remanded back to district court amid revelations of false testimony by the prosecution’s key witness.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 17, 2024) - Only a day after Attorney General Gentner Drummond told a U.S. House committee how illegal immigration is fueling criminal activity in Oklahoma, members of his office’s Organized Crime Task Force arrested several foreign nationals in connection with the seizure of a significant amount of marijuana allegedly headed for the illegal drug market.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 12, 2024) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced today that his office will be monitoring natural gas supply and marketing activity during the frigid weather expected over the next few days. With bone-chilling temperatures in the forecast, Drummond said he wants to ensure Oklahomans are not exploited as they were during Winter Storm Uri.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 10, 2024) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond testified today before the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee that the failure of the Biden Administration to secure the nation’s southwest border is seriously endangering public safety in Oklahoma. The Capitol Hill hearing was part of that committee’s impeachment proceedings against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
