OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 30, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond made the following statement today after the execution of Phillip Dean Hancock, who was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2001 murders of Robert Jett and James Lynch. The Attorney General attended the execution at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

"Justice has been served for the murders of Robert Jett and James Lynch. I hope today brings a measure of peace to the families of the men whose lives were tragically cut short by Phillip Dean Hancock."

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 21, 2023) - Attorney General Gentner Drummond issued a formal opinion today explaining that Oklahoma law does not allow pregnant women to be punished for seeking, performing or self-inducing an abortion to intentionally terminate their pregnancy. The opinion was requested by four state senators and two state representatives.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 21, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond is urging Corporation Commissioners to side with Oklahoma ratepayers over federal agencies after the Biden Administration filed a brief yesterday in support of higher rates for residential customers. The matter is set for a hearing this afternoon.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 17, 2023) – Only a week after seizing more than 36 tons of black-market marijuana in a single day, the Attorney General’s Organized Crime Task Force (OCTF) and Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) have made another major seizure, this time in Pottawatomie County.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 14, 2023) – The Attorney General’s Organized Crime Task Force (OCTF) last week seized more than 36 tons of illegal marijuana in searches conducted in Wagoner County and Lincoln County. Attorney General Gentner Drummond established the task force earlier this year to combat Oklahoma’s many illegal marijuana operations.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 8, 2023) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond is cautioning Oklahomans to be aware of a prevalent scam involving online car sales. In these scenarios, scammers post an online advertisement selling a car or other vehicle at a steeply discounted price. The ad may appear on a website of what seems to be a legitimate out-of-state dealership or auction site, and often includes photos matching the description of the for-sale car and even vehicle identification numbers.
