The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office is seeking a full-time Agent/Sexual Assault Kit Officer for the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI).

Position Summary: The position is funded by the SAKI Grant awarded to the OAG. The SAKI Officer/Agent will work directly with the new SAKI Lead Investigator, the SAK Resource Prosecutor and the new SAKI Victim Advocate. The investigator will attend the Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Task Force meetings, assist with the activities of the grant project, including: the inventory of the sexual assault kits (SAKs), submitting the SAKs to the outsourced forensic laboratory, receiving the data from the forensic lab, initiating the investigation for the new cold cases and working directly with the SAKI Resource Prosecutor and the applicable District Attorney’s office on re-opening the cases. The SAKI Investigator will also coordinate with the grant’s Multidisciplinary Work Group to fulfill additional activities related to re-engaging victims into the criminal justice system and promoting best practices for an effective system response to sexual assault crimes.

Qualifications: Candidates must be a CLEET certified peace officer with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a variety of investigative fields, including investigations, search warrant preparation, interview and interrogation techniques, and courtroom testimony. Applicant must be able to work well with others as this position will involve networking with other agencies and community partners across the state. The applicant should have good organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills. Applicant should have good computer skills and familiarity with current software programs being used by agencies. The applicant should have the ability to work unsupervised and a good work attendance record. The applicant should have a demonstrated proficiency in crime analysis. The applicant should demonstrate excellent work performance and contributions towards the goals and objectives of the OAG and the SAKI grant initiative. Preference will be given to officers with specific experience investigating sexual assault crimes.
