OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter has joined a coalition of 17 state attorneys general to defend the housing allowance religious leaders receive from the federal government.

In a brief, supporting an appeal filed by clergy members and churches, the attorneys general ask the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse an October 2017 judgment that declared the parsonage allowance unconstitutional.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today charged a nurse practitioner and her supervising physician with one count each of unlawful distribution of a controlled dangerous substance after an investigation by his office and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD).

Dr. Azuka Egbuniwe, 48, is accused of signing prescriptions for schedule II substances for patients she never met with while working as a supervising physician for nurse practitioner Addie Gratz, 43, who owns the First Choice Wellness Center in Tishomingo.

TULSA – Attorney General Mike Hunter today announced his office will begin working in further partnership with the Tulsa Police Department (TPD) and the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office by offering more assistance and resources to prosecute white collar crime in the Tulsa area.

As part of the collaborative effort to curbing white collar crime in Green Country, the TPD and Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office will begin referring more complex, high loss and fraud cases to the Attorney General’s Office for investigation and prosecution.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today hosted the eleventh annual Consumer Protection Day to raise awareness of scams and fraud and named the 2018 Consumer Champion.

Opening the event, Attorney General Hunter spoke about the important work being done by the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Unit on behalf of Oklahomans.

TULSA – Attorney General Mike Hunter today joined officials with the Tulsa Police Department and the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office to announce a first degree murder charge on an alleged Tulsa drug dealer in connection with an overdose death.

Taylor Rogers, 29, is accused of selling heroin to Jillian Searle, who died from the result of an overdose after her mother found her unconscious in their Tulsa home on March 21.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter is urging Oklahomans to use caution and to carefully research charities before making a donation to benefit individuals impacted by the recent wildfires.

Attorney General Hunter said the assistance through charitable giving and donations provided by Oklahomans after a disaster is crucial in the course of recovery.

Charges come after OBN investigation

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today filed charges on Jeramy Gregston after an undercover investigation by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) led to his arrest on allegations he was soliciting sex from a minor.

Gregston, 44, was charged in Oklahoma County with one count of attempting to engage in child prostitution and one count of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor by use of technology.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today released the following statement regarding the annual observance of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995.

“On today’s solemn annual observance of the Oklahoma City bombing, we remember the 168 innocent victims we lost 23 years ago. We also continue to pay our deepest sympathies and pledge our support and guidance to the loved ones of victims and survivors, who still struggle with the trauma of the bombing and its aftermath.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Hunter announced the Emergency Price Stabilization Act is in effect for the 52 counties listed in the governor’s executive order, declaring a state of emergency due to wildfires.

The price gouging statute prohibits an increase of more than 10 percent for the price of goods and services after a declared emergency. Additionally, the act allows the attorney general to pursue charges against individuals or businesses that engage in price gouging.

Attorney General Hunter said the statue will help ensure fair prices for those in need.
