Oklahoma is first state in nation to have a trial scheduled in opioid litigation
OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today commended Cleveland County District Judge Thad Balkman for granting the state’s requested May 2019 trial date for its lawsuit against opioid manufacturers for their role in creating the opioid epidemic.
Oklahoma is the first state in the nation to have a trial date set among the multitude of states across the country suing drug manufacturers.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today released the following statement after members of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) voted on the motions filed by his office, asking for a reduction in customer utility rates from the state’s leading utility companies, after the corporate income tax rate went from 35 percent to 21 percent.

Attorney General Hunter’s consumer and utility units develop tips to keep Oklahomans safe
OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter is imploring Oklahomans to take precaution and prepare for temperatures in the low teens and single digits over the weekend and into next week.
According to local weather reports, arctic air is expected to move into the state overnight and keep temperatures below freezing and approaching record – cold levels at times across the state. On Monday, with wind chills, temperatures could reach minus 10 degrees.

General Hunter: Corporate savings should be passed on to Oklahoma customers
OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter has filed five motions with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC), asking for an immediate reduction in customer rates from the state’s leading utility companies.
The attorney general’s request came the day that a sweeping overhaul of federal income taxes was signed into law, to take effect Jan. 1. The new law lowers the highest corporate income tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent.

OKLAHOMA CITY - Attorney General Mike Hunter today announced that the FBI and the Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will partner with his office to investigate issues relating to the use of federal funds at the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH).
Attorney General Hunter said attorneys and investigators with his office will work with federal authorities and the state auditor’s office to scrutinize movement and management of both state and federal monies at the OSDH.
