OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor today announced that Oklahoma is joining a nationwide Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force of 50 attorneys general to investigate and take legal action against the telecommunications companies responsible for allowing illegal foreign robocalls into the United States. This bipartisan nationwide Task Force has one goal: to reduce illegal robocalls. The Task Force will focus on shutting down the providers that profit from this illegal scam traffic and refuse to take steps to mitigate scam calls.

OKLAHOMA CITY- Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ordered the dismissal of a longstanding lawsuit challenging Oklahoma’s program regulating the disposal of coal ash. In Waterkeeper Alliance v. Regan, the D.C. Circuit held unanimously that the advocacy groups bringing the suit lacked standing to challenge Oklahoma’s environmental program, in part because certain claims “fall short of even speculation” and because Oklahoma’s program provides for greater public participation than the federal program.

OKLAHOMA CITY- Attorney General John O’Connor joined 21 other state attorneys general in a lawsuit filed today against the Biden Administration’s new guidance on sex discrimination for schools and programs that receive federal nutritional assistance. The lawsuit names the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK – An Edmond man has been charged with Abuse by Caretaker following an investigation by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). Gerald Ngwa, 37, was arrested on July 22, 2022, by an MFCU agent and an Oklahoma County Sheriff Deputy.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Today, Attorney General John O’Connor sent written guidance to Oklahoma law enforcement and district attorneys following the United States Supreme Court decision in Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta, a decision that recognized Oklahoma can prosecute non-Indians who commit crimes against Indians in land that has been held to be Indian country.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Earlier this month, the Biden Administration conceded to Attorney General John O’Connor’s criticisms of a new regulatory proposal regarding federal grants for public charter schools.

“I am glad that the Biden Administration accepted my request to abandon its flawed plans for charter school funding,” said Attorney General O’Connor. “All students deserve access to a high-quality education and underperforming public schools should not be able to veto their own competition.”

OKLAHOMA CITY – Ashley Nicole Brown, 35, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the owner of unlicensed home health company, and a former employee of another home health company, pleaded guilty to embezzling her coworkers’ payroll funds and their health insurance subsidies.

OKLAHOMA CITY - A federal district court has temporarily prohibited the Biden Administration from enforcing new, expansive, and unlawful gender identity mandates against Oklahoma and 18 other States. The Biden “guidance” documents attempted, among other things, to force schools to allow biological males to compete on girls’ sports teams and use the girls’ showers and locker rooms.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Today, Attorney General John O’Connor filed a petition attacking an Obama-era rule which allowed the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to rely upon a determination of a “public health emergency” by the World Health Organization (WHO). In the last two days of President Obama’s second term, HHS implemented a rule that permitted HHS to rely on a WHO determination of a global health emergency. This could lead to the implementation of pandemic-like measures in America based upon the WHO determination.
